ABOUT Caitlin

Caitlin White was born in Port Elizabeth South Africa on 20 January 1988 and spent most of her young life reading fantasy, doing too well at school, and inventing code languages styled in "Elvish" to be used for secret communication with friends.

After studying Human Molecular Biology and Behavioral Genetics at the University of the Free State, Caitlin returned with two degrees she'd never use and a newborn son.
She promptly decided to give the whole "writing a bestselling book" thing another shot and failed spectacularly.

Regardless, she began ghostwriting, started her own outlining business to help other authors outline their novels, until she eventually worked up the gall to independently publish her first cozy mystery novel in 2017, under the pen name Rosie A. Point.

Since then, Caitlin has published over 90 novels and novellas in cozy mystery, hit the USA Today bestseller list in September 2021, and has sold over half a million books. In 2025, she embarked on a fun cozy mystery puzzling mash-up with Adams Media, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

While Caitlin has always loved authoring mystery novels, her true passion lies with epic fantasy, both in the reading and writing it, and is in the throes of writing her debut epic fantasy novel, Blood and Reckoning.

Caitlin lives in Cape Town with her husband, eye-rolling teenager, and cat, Shiva the Destroyer, who happens to be the most well-adjusted member of the family. She spends her time writing fantasy, mystery, helping other authors with their marketing, and consulting.
